Why We Serve

Updated: Aug 2

We are proud of our Charlotte home. This community is vibrant, dynamic and full of history. It is our privilege to give back to our community and to serve our UpROAR Leadership Academy (ULA) scholars and families by creating opportunities for community service within our curriculum. Our local service projects are a highlight of our time together.

We are proud to engage with our Charlotte/Mecklenburg area with canned food drives, feeding the homeless, and support for sick family members. We purposefully expose our scholars to those who have different lives from their day to day. We teach compassion, expand awareness and share together how we can make a difference.

Volunteering Benefits All

Volunteering is very important to our school culture at ULA. We volunteer because our scholars gain new leadership skills as well as effective communication practice, time management, and decision-making opportunities. Our fifth - twelfth grade ULA Tigers who volunteer feel a closer bond to each other and with our shared roots. It’s win-win all around.

Educating the Whole Child

At UpROAR Leadership Academy, we nurture and educate the whole child and provide a challenging college-preparatory curriculum that includes honors and advanced placement classes; 8 sport teams, fine arts, musical and theatrical skill development. Our rigorous and challenging curriculum is taught by North Carolina Licensed Instructors who use technology to ensure our scholars are prepared to meet a progressive future. Every ULA Tiger participates in local service projects to understand the meaning of giving back to our community.

Each day, we help our middle and high schoolers develop a strong foundation which includes our core values of honor, integrity, respect, and leadership. Join our caring, small public charter school and feel how we grow stronger together! Enroll now.
